Getting a BJJ black belt is hard. Getting one as a Getting a BJJ black belt is hard. Getting one as a high level competitor training at a high level gym can be even harder. For many people, this will be the crowning achievement of their lives. Receiving your black belt is an absolutely undeniable record that you worked at something incredibly difficult for a very long time. Whether you have good days on the mat or bad days, whether you think you deserve the belt or not, the fact remains that achieving your black belt in BJJ already puts you in a very small percentage of the human race. (Or just the most fun...)⁠ ⁠ The Solid Ground Open Mat held at Royal Jiujitsu last weekend was a great success, not only allowing us to get an extra two hours of training in that week, but raising money for a dear friend of Sam and Brad at Royal Jiujitsu and just providing people with a fun and safe environment to train and meet new people.⁠ ⁠ Let us know where to go next in the comments below!
